Trying to make a change on the world is difficult, but you proved that 1 person can make a difference. True inspiration and a true hero. Dive Forever and thank you for the education we didn’t and still do not get in school. Rest in Peace.
Since the world lost a Man like Rob climate change and species extinction seems to be worse than ever. I have found myself failing to scrape together any hope for humanity and hadn’t realised how much hope i had lost.
Today,right now in this moment once again the majesty and depth of Rob’s soul has refilled my cup and refocused my thoughts. His work, his pictures his energy is a inspiration to me on a level i find intoxicating, almost like he was only ever talking to me, humanity has lost a true soldier of humanity.
Rest Rob, I will take up your cause to my best ability.
Dear Rob;
I only learned of your death by surprise several years ago. We were both nominated for the Peter Benchley Shark Conservation Award in 2007. You won. I understood why. I miss your presence. Thus, as is said in Hawaiian culture,
Mālama: To Care For and Protect. Do that for the sharks around you in the great blackness beyond our blue.
Robin St. Taw
I met Rob at the UK premier of sharkwater.
I was working for sea shepherd UK at the time.
We did some research in Londons Chinatown and several protests/information campaigns.
I still have a sharkwater long sleeve tshirt (large) if any of his family or friends want it. I also have a hardcover sharkwater book and a premier invitation to sharkwater in London.
You should be proud to have known such a hero for the sharks.
